Tour “To Mutnovsky volcano crater”. Waterfall of Opasny (dangerous) canyon.

First stop of this excursion will be at the right side of Paratunka river. One of the most beautiful Vilyuchinsky volcano 

The road will give you a unique chance to enjoy extraordinary beauty of vicinity if weather conditions are good and there is no fog. Constantly changing landscapes will amaze even the most experienced travelers. After going up by car on a serpentine road, you will reach Vilyuchinsky pass and you find yourself over the clouds! You will have a feeling that the world is under your feet! Then you will see covered with snow-white caps volcanoes, endless fields of golden or fuchsia rhododendron (depending on the date of the tour). 
Then the road turns to the right and further way will lead through black volcanic ash fields among piles of rocks. All these are products of Gorely volcano activity, which is on right side. An alien landscape! 

Further road is extreme itself !!! Steep ascending and sharp descents, crossing rivers are not for nervous! Reached the foothill of Mutnovsky volcano, we will have dinner. After the meal, we change shoes that are more appropriate (if you need it. It depends on the weather conditions and the tour dates).

Now the reason, for which we have overcome this way, - ascending to staggering colorful Mutnovsky volcano crater is waiting for us! Mutnovsky volcano is complex volcanic massif; it is one of the worldwide outstanding thermal object. Its height is 2323 m above sea level. Way to the crater is like a trip around the Mars. You cannot help feeling that you are on the other planet.

All around you is amazing: oxygen rivers, concentrating iron and aluminum, rocks near the fumaroles with crystallized sulfur on them, places with deposits of zinc ore, lead, arsenic, mercury, boiling mud cauldrons. Emotions run high with each new turn... Fumaroles, containing water vapor, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide gases, have changed the rocks so much, that you hardly can recognize them. Now these rocks have fantastic colors.

All this seems like a giant retort, inside which different components are mixing, heating according to mysterious rules of nature and Life itself is forming.

Believe me, it will be difficult for the guide to make you go back. Usually fascinated with marvelous views people want to stay there at least “five minutes more…”. Then short move to unique waterfall in Opasny (dangerous) canyon.

You will see how Mutnaya (troubled) river, running through Mutnovsky volcano depths, where you have just been, releases itself by powerful current in Opasny (dangerous) canyon. The river turns into stupendous waterfall; its height is 80 m. The canyon is dangerous. Be very careful going down. You definitely we have a strong wish to peep deeper. You are to follow guide’s instructions strictly here. It is he, who can show you the safest way for admiring the waterfall!

Note: experienced driver and guides work on the route. Depending on objective reasons (bad weather, Ministry of Emergency Situation recommendations, any threat to life and health of tourists and so on.), guide has the right to change the direction of the route and schedule. In this case, made part of the route is considered to be done. Tourists are to follow safety devices and instructor’s commands.
